Make soft, flexible, 3-ingredient oat and chia wraps in 20 minutes. Quick, easy, and endlessly versatile, they’re wholesome, gluten-free, high-fiber, & perfect for sweet and savory fillings!
I recommend measuring the ingredients in grams using a kitchen scale. You can watch the video for visual instructions.
Add the rolled oats to a blender and blend until they have a fine, flour-like consistency.
Pour in the water and blend again until the batter is completely smooth.
Add the chia seeds and stir them into the batter with a spoon. Set the batter aside to rest for 10 minutes, allowing the chia seeds to absorb some of the liquid and thicken the mixture.
If you would like to make both savory and sweet wraps, divide the batter in half. Season one half with salt and garlic powder to taste. For sweet wraps, add half of a banana to the other half of the batter and blend until smooth. Reserve the remaining banana for the filling.
Lightly oil a non-stick skillet and heat it over medium heat. Pour enough batter into the skillet to make one wrap, then use the back of a spoon to spread it into a thin, even circle.
Cook until the underside is golden brown and the surface looks set. Carefully flip the wrap and cook the other side until lightly browned. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding a little more oil to the skillet when necessary.
Serve the savory wraps with your favorite fillings, e.g. avocado or hummus. For a simple sweet version, spread vegan chocolate cream over a wrap, top it with slices of the remaining banana, and fold it into a triangle.
Notes
Use certified gluten-free oats if you need the wraps to be strictly gluten-free. Buckwheat flakes/flour should work too!
I mention several serving suggestions above in the blog post.
The number of wraps will depend on the size of your skillet and how thinly you spread the batter.
