Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges

These air fryer sweet potato wedges are crispy outside, tender and fluffy inside, and a quick, flavorful side or appetizer made with a handful of ingredients in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium (460 g) sweet potatoes cut into wedges
  • 1 ½ Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt plus more to taste
  • Black pepper & chili powder to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • You can watch the video in the post for visual instructions.
    First, preheat your air fryer to 375°F/190°C. Meanwhile, wash, dry, and optionally peel the sweet potatoes.
  • Then, slice each potato in half lengthwise, place it flat-side onto the chopping board, and slice at an angle into ¾-1 inch wedges.
  • Extra step for crispier results:
    - Soak the wedges for 10-15 minutes in cold water, then dry them
    - Optionally add 1 Tbsp of cornstarch/potato starch (creates a crisp shell)
  • Transfer the wedges to a large mixing bowl, drizzle with oil and seasonings, and toss well to coat evenly.
  • Spread the wedges in a single layer across the air fryer basket, leaving space between for airflow.
    Avoid overcrowding, or the wedges won’t crisp up– work in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry the sweet potato wedges for 15-18 minutes, flipping them halfway, until tender inside with crispy edges. Enjoy!
