Instructions

  • You can watch the video in the post for visual instructions.
First, press the tofu for 15 to 30 minutes either with a tofu press or by wrapping it in a kitchen towel then placing something heavy on top (like a heavy skillet and/or several books).
  • Then cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and transfer it to a medium bowl.
  • Add tamari, sesame oil, and all the seasonings, and toss carefully to thoroughly coat the cubes. Then sprinkle in the cornstarch and toss once more.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil and then spread the seasoned tofu cubes across the basket, ensuring they’re in a single layer with space between each piece for airflow.
  • Air fry the tofu at 400 °F/200 °C for about 11 minutes, shaking the basket after 5-6 minutes.
Air fryers can vary slightly, so I recommend checking it at 10 minutes. It may take anywhere between 10-13 minutes total for your desired crisp level.
  • Serve with Yum Yum sauce or any dipping sauce of choice. Enjoy!
